Perfiltra set up its business in 1967 as a subsidiary of Johns Manville Corporation, under the name of Silflo Argentina, to be later converted into current Perfiltra S.A. Vertically integrated, it extracts its main raw material, perlite, from beds owned by the company in the Province of Salta. These beds, which are located in the Argentine Andes, display unique characteristics due to the mineral quality and the reserves' size.
